Bangladesh head coach Steve Rhodes insisted that they need Mahmudullah to bowl quickly as it opens lot of options for them.
Bangladesh received a serious injury scare ahead of the forthcoming World Cup after an MRI report of batsman Mahmudullah revealed a grade-3 tear on his shoulder.
Mahmudullah had initially injured himself a few months ago but aggravated it during the first Test against New Zealand on the recent tour when he dived on the field twice.

An MRI test was conducted in New Zealand and it revealed that he had sustained a grade-3 Labrum tear, which often requires a surgery for complete healing.
Though he can bat Bangladesh management opted not to risk him by giving the ball to complete couple of overs in the middle and according to team management he is not expected to bowl in the tri-nation.
‘’Riyad[ Mahmudullah] with his shoulder problem is quite confident that he can get himself in fit position at the World Cup to be bowling for his maybe at the backend of the tournament might be a good opportunity to bowl one or two overs,’’ said Rhodes.
‘’We need him bowling because he gives us options for the sixth or the seventh bowler because you know he started his career as an off-spin bowler and a good one so we could do with his bowling that’s a slight concern,’’ he said.
Rhodes added that there is no serious injury concern unlike the past when they were worried as quite a few of them sustained injuries.
