Adelaide strike for the top spot


Today's encounter between Adelaide Strikers and Brisbane Heat resulted in the Strikers winning it by 56 runs. Adelaide remain unbeaten alongside Perth Scorchers in this tournament so far.
Winning the toss, Adelaide Strikers chose to bat first. They posted 147 runs on the scoresheet losing 7 wickets. Michael Neser played the highest individual innings for his team by remaining unbeaten on 40 runs.
Opener Jake Weathherald scored 20 runs. Another two important innings came from Colin Ingram and Jake Lehmann who made 23 and 22 runs respectively. Strikers' skipper Travis Head posted 13 runs before leaving the pitch.

Lalor got 3 wickets including the opening wickets, while Yasir Shah picked up 2 and Mark Steketee bagged 1.
Brisbane Heat put up a poor display and got all out at 91 runs in 16.2 overs. No innings went past Cameron Gannon's 23 runs. Among the other batters, Ben Cutting and Brendon McCullum were able to hit the double-digit. Brisbane's captain McCullum scored 15 off 21, while Cutting scored 14 runs.
A total of 7 players bowled for Adelaide. Michael Neser and Rashid Khan scalped 2 wickets each and Ben Laughlin picked up 3 wickets. Billy Stanlake and Travis Head also got a wicket each. Neser became the Man of the Match for his all-round performance.
Brisbane will face Melbourne Stars in their next match on 2nd January in an away match. Adelaide Strikers will take on Hobart Hurricanes in Hobart on 4th January.
