Andrew Tye shines against Melbourne Stars

Only three good innings from the batsmen and quality bowling saw Perth Scorchers leading the points table. Yesterday they defeated Melbourne Stars by 13 runs.
Winning the toss, Melbourne decided to bowl first at WACA. 'Retiring' from international cricket, the ground in Perth allowed the Scorchers to make 142 runs losing 6 wickets in the 1st innings.
Hilton Cartwright, who later received the Man of the Match award, picked up a half-century and posted 58 runs before departing. Perth's skipper―Adam Voges―scored 35 runs before getting dismissed by Hastings.
The 3rd decent innings from the Perth-side was played by Ashton Agar who remained unbeaten at 33 runs.

James Faulkner got 2 wickets while Michael Beer, Marcus Stoinis and Adam Zampa picked up a wicket each.
While chasing, Melbourne Stars' batting line-up was detroyed single-handedly by Andrew Tye. The fast-bowler scalped 5 wickets and conceded 23 runs in the 4 overs he had bowled.
Melbourne scored 129 runs, losing 8 wickets. James Faulkner remained not-out scoring his innings-best 35 runs.
Except for Luke Wright and Rob Quiney, no other players could make even 20 runs. Wright got dismissed by Tye; after a while, Quiney was run out.
After playing their two matches, Melbourne Stars are still waiting for a win. Perth Scorchers, on the other hand, left the Renegades behind, in order to grab the top spot.
