Bangladesh was up against mighty Australia in 2006 Test series. Where a tailender batsman was pushed up front as a nightwatchman but it turned out to be his day, because that leads to him to his double hundred innings in a Test match. We are talking about veteran pace bowler Jason Gillespie of Australia. Who scored a 201 from 425 balls against Bangladesh.
Jaso Gillespie was always a reliable tailender for the Aussie Test team. But In 2006, Gillespie’s surprises everyone with his batting prowess when he ended up smashing an unbeaten double hundred after coming on as a nightwatchman against Bangladesh in Chattogram.

At the end of day one Gillespie came down to bat when opener Mathew Hayden was dismissed by Mohamad Rafique. Where he spent over nine and a half-hour in the pitch facing 425 balls and shared partnerships of 53 runs with Phil Jacques 90 runs with skipper Ricky Ponting and a colossal 320-run stand with Mike Hussey.
Gillespie finally crossed the 200-run mark while Michael Clarke was on the other. They had a partnership of 51 runs and Ponting declared the moment Gillespie got his double ton with Australia on 581/4.
Bangladesh lost that match by in an innings and 80 runs.
Gillespie was unbeaten on 5 on the first day. The next day it was only 22 overs after the rain hit. Gillespie was unbeaten on 28 runs. On the third day, he got his first century and as the fifth nightwatchman batsman in the Test history. Then on the fourth day, he hit a boundary off Mohammed Rafiq's over and got the achievement to be the first player in Test cricket history to score a double century.
