Proteas are symptom free after 14 days of self-isolation

South African players who were been into 14 days self quarantine are declared to be not being infected.


The South African cricket team decided to return home in the middle of a visit from India in March following the outbreak of coronavirus. After returning home, the whole team were sent to self quarantine for 14 days. They were kept under close observation.

"During this period, we continued to monitor the players for symptoms and signs of the disease," said Cricket South Africa chief medical officer Shuaib Manjra.


"Thankfully, all the players were symptom free and those who opted perform the test returned negative results."



Manjra also said that they may be come clear from the test and have been out from the close observation for 14 days but they will be lockdown in their home under government order.


"We this consider all the players out of the quarantine period, but they remain under government directives during the lockdown period."



The Proteas are scheduled to tour Sri Lanka for three ODIs and three T20Is in June. Though the series is currently uncertain due to coronavirus pandemic.
