Bangladesh Cricket Board offered Sanjay Bangar to be the batting coach for Test cricket about eight weeks ago. But he refused the offer to accept the two year contract from Star Sports. However he wishes to work with BCB in near future.
"They offered me the position eight weeks ago. But in the interim, I finalised my contract with Star which gave me the opportunity to balance out my personal and professional commitment. However I look forward to working with BCB in the future," Bangar told PTI.
Neil Mckenzie is primarily working with Bangladesh team in only ODI and Twenty20s and this former South African batsmen wanted to be in either white or red ball cricket for BCB.

That's the reason BCB was ought to find a new batting consultant for the red ball cricket only and they were very close to sign Banger, but he didn't agreed with BCB and went to Star.
Besides on Wednesday morning BCB chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury told reporters that they are searching for someone to replace Mckenzie from red ball cricket despite he is a consultant for white ball cricket only.
He said that, "We have spoken with Bangar (for Test Batting consultant), but nothing is finalised yet. We are negotiating with a few others as well. Mckenzie is looking after the red ball cricket despite being a white ball consultant and till we get a batting consultant for Test cricket we are expecting him to do the job (in red ball)."
