West Indian batsman Nicholas Pooran, pacer Oshane Thomas and spinner Fabian Allen have been handed a central contract from West Indies cricket board for the very first time.
They are placed in the White ball category, for the ODI’s and T20’s. Alongside them Darren Bravo also returned into the mix with a three format contract from the West Indies board.
The West Indies board deals with the men cricket team in three categories of all-format, red-ball and white-ball contracts.
There are seven players in the central contract of all three formats for the West Indies. Jason Holder, Shai Hope, Alzarri Joseph,Kemar Roach, Darren Bravo, Shimron Hetmyer and Keemo Paul.

Pooran, Allen and Thomas were all part of the World Cup squad. Pooran impressed everyone with scintillating batting in the closing stages of the tournament with 118 against Sri Lanka and 58 against Afghanistan. Opening batsman John Campbell, who made his Test debut against England earlier this year, has also been handed his first contract in the red-ball category.
Left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican has been offered a red-ball deal and Sheldon Cottrell got a white-ball offer from the West Indies board.
There are some players who have been left out from the contract of 2018-2019. Sunil Ambris, Devendra Bishoo, Miguel Cummins, Ashley Nurse, Kieran Powell and Raymon Reifer are in this fall out list.
West Indies interim chairman of selection panel Robert Haynes believes, these players are important for the development of the West Indies cricket and they will take them forward.
. "We believe the mix of players selected are important for the development of our teams going forward and we have looked to award contracts to players who have shown commitment and performance during the past year," Haynes said.
We believe the 2019-20 contract list provides us with a multi-talented group of players who can represent West Indies men and women across all formats over the contract period," Haynes added.
