Windies wicket keeper batsman Shai Hope is all set to play his 50th ODI as his team takes on Ireland today, he believes it's a huge honor to represent his country at the international level.
''It's a huge honour to represent your country and entire West Indies- to do it fifty times means a lot,'' quoted Hope on Sunday. He stated that he is prepared to do anything for the team. Hope was seen joking that if his team requires him to bowl he would love to do that too.
''Its a pleasure to be doing anything for the West Indies. If i had to open bowling for Jason, I’d love to do it,'' Hope quoted.

He made his debut against Sri Lanka in 2016 and since then he scored 1777 runs in ODI’s with an average of 45.56. He scored 8 half centuries and 4 centuries in his ODI career. Hope is seeing this series as a perfect opportunity to prepare themselves for the World Cup.
''There’s a lot to look forward to in this series. It’s preparation for the forthcoming World Cup, so you have to take each match at once, ensure we spread the nuts and bolts well, ensure we hit out ties early and become acclimated to the conditions. Ensure we’re in great stead for the following couple of matches and the World Cup,” he said.
West Indies are currently ranked 8th on the ICC ODI ranking but they have the ability to beat anyone on their day. They have shown that in the India and England series recently.
''We go out there to represent the country well, and each time we venture over the line, we realize we got an opportunity to beat anybody,'' stated Hope
Hope’s side will face Ireland at Dublin today in the first match of the tri-nation series. After the series their team will start their World Cup campaign against Pakistan on May 31.
