Knowing that Stuart Law’s tenure would come to an end after the series against India, West Indies were ready to endure his absence. But the shocking matter was Jason Holder’s absence in the series against Bangladesh in which they are expected to face another sterner test.

Holder was not only their inspirational captain but he held together the side, performing with both batting and bowling in the regular absence of their some key stars. Moreover Holder was the only one who gave India some torrid time in a two-match Test series in which the Caribbean side tasted defeat in both matches inside three days. So his loss to injury was a tough pill to swallow.

Eventually fielding coach Nic Pothas replaced Law as the interim coach of the side while Kraigg Brathwaite stood as stand in captain and the latter thought their chemistry would be fine enough to amend the loss of Law and Holder.

“I don’t think so,” Brathwaite replied about whether the absence of Law and Holder would make an adverse impact.

“I have a good relationship with Nic. We are getting the support. We are raring to go in this first Test.”

“He (Holder) is obviously the key leader of this team. But I think we have capable guys here to replace him. I think we will do well on this tour,” said a soft-spoken Brathwaite.
