Bangladesh batsmen failed to learn from their mistakes as they demonstrated another reckless batting show to be precariously placed at 56-3 at lunch on the opening day of the second and final Test on Sunday.

Fast bowler Kyle Jarvis (2-20) and Donald Tiripano (1-10) rattled the top order in the first hour of the morning after captain Bangladesh captain Mahmudullah decided to bat first.

Pace bowler Tendai Chatara built up the pressure with accurate line and length to aid Jarvis and Tiripano.

Jarvis broke through, producing a beauty to dismiss opener Imrul Kayes for 0 as the batsman got an inside edge to offer a catch behind the wicket.

Another opener Liton Das (9) however chipped to mid-wicket off Jarvis delivery, playing a loose shot.

Mohammad Mithun however got an unforgettable debut when he offered a simple catch, chasing a wide delivery off first change bowler Donald Tiripano as he seemed to be unaware that there is always slip and gully in the first morning of a Test match.

With dangerously reeling at 26-3, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mominul Haque battled hard against a spirited Zimbabwe attack to see through the session.

Mominul, survived on 9 off Chatara, was batting on 25, with Rahim on 12.
