Bangladesh head coach Steve Rhodes said on Thursday that they have recalled Mohammad Saifuddin as back-up of skipper Mashrafee bin Murtaza in the upcoming home series against Zimbabwe.
Aware of Rhodes pointed out that the inclusion of Saifuddin was to make sure that someone is ready so that he can fill the shoes of Mashrafee considering his long association with injuries.
"We think Saifuddin is a very good allrounder. He has the ability to perform at the highest level. He has had a taste of international cricket. He has gone away, and came back into the team. We expect him to be more matured.

‘’Mashrafe has had his injuries. He picked up a injury recently. We need to think about keeping someone ready as his replacement. We want to give Saifuddin some cricket so that he can be prepared.
‘’I like his approach and attitude and he looks stronger.
Rhodes said that they are looking forward to make some plans to see the credentials of Ariful Haque, who retained his place in the 15-member squad after the Asia Cup though he is yet to be debuted.
‘’Ariful is definitely a player we would like to see. If we don't test them out, how do we know if they are any good or not?,’’ asked Rhodes adding that he is keen to fix the place of number seven soon.
"I think No 7 is absolutely crucial in a good cricket team. It is massive psychologically if we have one batsmen after another coming out. It also means you can chase well. England have a long batting line-up right down to No 9 and 10,’’ said Rhodes.
‘’Ariful, Soumya and Saifuddin are all the same type of players. Ariful is definitely a player we would like to see
