Although Taskin doesn’t have much leadership experience, former Bangladesh captain and BCB director Khaled Mahmud Sujon expressed confidence in Taskin’s leadership abilities.

Speaking to the media today (Saturday) at Mirpur, Sujon said, "Wasim Akram, Imran Khan, Ian Botham — they all led their teams successfully. Although they were all-rounders, it’s wrong to say that pace bowlers can’t be captains."
