Umpire Saikat to get $2,000 for per BPL match

Recognized internationally for his officiating excellence, Saikat is receiving a significantly higher remuneration compared to his peers. According to the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) Umpires Division official, Saikat is being paid $2,000 per match, approximately BDT 243,000.

Saikat began his BPL campaign officiating the match between Chittagong Kings and Khulna Tigers in Chittagong. He is set to officiate six matches as a field umpire during the tournament. However, due to commitments in the upcoming India-England series, he will not be available for the BPL final.
Over the years, Saikat has earned widespread acclaim in international cricket. His bold decision to dismiss Yashasvi Jaiswal during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy garnered significant attention and praise. Last year, he became the first Bangladeshi umpire to join the ICC Elite Panel, marking a proud milestone for the nation.
