Due to the coronavirus pandemic situation, cricketers are standing beside the underprivileged people as much as they want. Two days ago veteran national team player Mushfiqur Rahim announced to auction his beloved bat. Like Mushfiq another national team veteran batsman also wants to come forward. But due to lack of idea about the process of auction Ashraful could not make move.

Ashraful has given birth to some of the most memorable moments in the history of Bangladesh cricket in his starting of career. A century against strong Sri Lanka team in his debut Test, the century against Australia in the NatWest series where Bangladesh got their first victory against the Aussies, this memories are still fresh to cricket lovers. Ashraful wants to sell that two bat which he used to have those centuries through auction. After defeating Australia in 2005 he got a bottle of champagne as a man of the match which is still intact. Auction that champagne also. Even willing to sell his Test debut cap, the stamp of a Test-winning match five years after receiving Test status.
"There is a will. I have kept all this for this purpose. Now the world is going through a very difficult time. If I get a good auction right now, then I will give these. This culture has not been created in our country yet. Now, I don't even know how to do it. Saw that Mushfiq wanted to give his double century bat. I don't know how he will give exactly. If I knew the process, I would give away my winning century bat against Australia, debut Test century bat, a champagne of bottle which was given to me for my winning performance against Australia. I do have such a desire." Ashraful told to a Bengali daily.
Ashraful wanted to auction these cricket memorabilia in his old age. But seeing other cricketers coming forward in this coronavirus pandemic situation, Ashraful is also encouraged and step forward, "If we don't help now then when. We all have to come forward to help."
