Bangladesh Cricket Board, country’s prestigious sports federation, is running without any recognized physician as their medical department head Debashish Chowdhury went to self-quarantine since returning back from Australia.
Debashish went to Australia to accompany Bangladesh’s Test opener Sadman Islam and Under-19 pace bowler Mrittunjoy Chowdhury during their respective surgeries.
Since returning back all the three individuals Along went into home quarantine- staying isolated at home for a period of 14-days- as per the directives of the government.

Bangladesh government ordered that all travelers returning home to self-isolate themselves for a period of 14 days to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection worldwide.
BCB medical unit is a one-man army as they did not appoint any physician after the death of Dr Amin in 2017, who was serving as the assistant of Debashish at that point of time.
BCB decided to postpone all cricketing activities like all other cricketing nations due to Coronavirus pandemic.
Though some of the cricketers chose to practice during this unexpected break with others not ready to come out of their homes at present if any cricketer has some medical problem either he will have to sought help from physician individually or have to wait till Debashish come back to the board after completing his 14-day isolation.
‘’It’s a part of awareness to prevent the spread of Covid-19. We’ve to accept this because we shouldn’t be harmful to others. We also came through the testing process at the airport. In this point, everyone should be aware,” Debashish told media over phone.
