While the every team of the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BBPL) formed a balanced team, Chattogram Challengers could give all of them a run for their money, said its wicket-keeper Nurul Hasan Sohan.
Speaking to the media during the practice session of the team at the Academy Ground of Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, the wicket-keeper batsman hoped that his team won’t face that much trouble to seal the first four spot.
“Every seven teams of the tournament is balanced but I am hopeful that we would do better,” Sohan said on Wednesday.
“Our initial target is to seal the first four spot to make us eligible for the play-off stages after which we’ll definitely give it shot to clinch the trophy.”

All of the teams of the BBPL, which is a special edition of BPL to celebrate the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has officially started their practice session.
Chattogram Challengers though didn’t get whole team in the practice session as of now, Sohan believes that won’t be problematic for them to make a proper co-ordination.
“Some of our foreign players are yet to reach the country. The officials could say when they will. But from our part, we are taking the best preparation. Hopefully there will be no problem to have a proper co-ordination with the team,” Sohan, who played three Tests, two ODIs and nine T20 Internationals for Bangladesh added.
He said that the players are determined to give their best to clinch the trophy.
“In T20 cricket anything can happen. Those who will play well on their given day, will win the match. It is as simple as that. Here we saw every team is well balanced, so as we. I think if we can give our best in the ground, we will emerge out as winner. That’s the target indeed,” he opined.
Soahn believes the BPL is the platform to enhance the standard of Bangladesh’s cricket as they get the chance to share the dressing room with quality foreign players.
“BPL is always challenging because you will be up against quality foreign players. It would help you to how you should react in a pressurized situation. The standard of the foreign players in this tournament is really good and we can learn many things from them after sharing the dressing room,” he said.
“The local players know how tough it would be to play against those foreign players. From what I have seen that every player is ready to take up the challenge.”
