Walton named title sponsor of NCL

Bangladeshi high-tech manufacturer Walton has been named the title sponsor of the 21st edition of the National Cricket League (NCL) which is set to kick-start from October 10.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced Walton as the title sponsor of the country’s major first-class tournament in a press meet held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Monday.
Walton, who has been with the board for the last one decade has been rewarded the sponsorship for the next three years.

This is however the fifth straight time that they became the title sponsor of NCL.
Nizam Uddin Chowdhury, the CEO BCB, thanked Walton for their immense interest in cricket and also expressed that they would get the sponsor company besides them to make the tournament more competitive.
“We have tried out utmost best to make it more competitive,” Chowdhury said here on Monday. “The national players will play the league from the beginning this year. It is not that the national players don’t want to play the league but they remain busy all the year-round which is why they couldn’t take part in this tournament.
Executive Director of Walton Uday Hakim, Additional Director Milton Ahmed were present at the press conference.
The NCL will kick off on October 10 throughout the country in four different venues.
A total of eight teams will participate in the event and the games will be played under two tiers.
