Three centuries in the last day

Centuries are rare in women’s cricket. But Tuesday was different. Three centuries were seen today in BKSP. Three centurions in the first round of Dhaka Premier league are – Mukta, Nigar and Pinky. Record of highest team total has also been made today.
Two middle order batsmen of Khelaghor Mukta and Nigar scored centuries against Kolabagan and posted a total of 326 runs on the board. Mukta scored 131 and Nigar scored 110 runs. In the fourth wicket partnership they accumulated 229 runs.
Kolabagan batted for 50 overs but failed to score more than 138 runs. Khelaghor secured a humungous win of 194 runs and climbed up to the top of the point table.
Mohammadan also scored 326 runs in this running league against Gulshan Youth Club. There had been no 300 plus scores in Women league before but we have already seen two 300 plus score in this year’s edition.

In this running league national cricketer Farzana Haque Pinky scored her second century. This Rupali bank batsman scored 117 runs against Abahani. Her team posted a total of 243 runs on the board by losing 9 wickets. In reply Abahani only scored 133 runs. BKSP lost the match but they were ahead by run rate, so they secured their Super League spot staying in the fifth position.
In the other match BKSP have beaten Mohammadan by 5 wickets. Four teams already insured their place on the Super League. Only one team wasn’t decided. Abahani and BKSP shared the same spot with 9 points. Two teams lost their last match. So they their point was same as before. But Abahani’s run rate was far better. These two teams head to head match was also abandoned due to rain, for this run rate was taken into consideration. That gave advantage to the Abahani.
Women’s Dhaka league started in the 25th April with 10 teams. Super League will start from 26 May with top five teams.
