Rizwan's 171 put Pakistan on top as Bangladesh post 27-0 at stumps

Bangladesh scored 27-0 in 12 overs at the close of Day 2 in reply to Pakistan's 448 during the first Test at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
Openers Shadman Islam and Zakir Hasan stood firm against the Pakistan pace attack and remained unbeaten on 12 and 11 runs respectively at the end of the final session.
Earlier, Mohammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel struck centuries as Pakistan declared their first innings on 448-6 in 113 overs after Tea.
Pakistan resumed on 158-4, overnight batters Rizwan and Shakeel each scored a hundred keeping Tiger bowlers toil for a breakthrough until Miraz broke the 200-run plus partnership.
Rizwan registered his third Test hundred and steered a career-best figure 171 facing 239 balls featuring 11 boundaries and three sixes accompanied by Shaheen Afridi's (29) sensible batting.
Miraz removed Shakeel, who survived a runout on 138 when Litton Das pinged a sharp throw at the stumps during the 94th over. In the next over, the batter failed to restrain from getting stumped while facing Mehidy Hasan Miraz. He scored a valiant 141 facing 261 balls.
Following Shakeel's dismissal, Rizwan continued to stem runs finding some support from Agha Salman who contributed with 19 runs before getting axed by Shakib al Hasan.
Bangladesh pacers Shoriful Islam and Hasan Mahmud made a promising start, winning the toss, however, Suad and Saim Ayub's 98-run partnership for the fourth wicket helped Pakistan to recover from the initial setback. Saim scored 56 in 98 balls before being dismissed by Hasan.
Shoriful and Hasan each took two wickets for Bangladesh.
