Taskin was also happy to avoid defeat
Mominul Haque compared to Rohit Sharma by team-mate
Bangladesh pace bowler Taskin Ahmed has heaped praise team-mate Mominul Haque for his brilliant 182 runs’ knock against Ireland A. Whilst playing for Bangladesh A, Mominul smashed the brilliant knock which reminded Taskin Ahmed of Rohit Sharma.
The Indian superstar is the only player in the history of cricket to have scored three double hundreds in ODIs. He also holds the record of the highest individual runs scored in an innings with 264* to his name.
Meanwhile, the right-handed pacer suggested that the pitch was helping the batters and that Mominul’s carnage with the bat was something that put him in awe.
‘The wickets in Ireland might have been green but they were flat-decks. If you had witnessed Mominul [Haque] bat the day he made 182 runs… all these days, we watched Rohit Sharma on the TV, [but] that day I saw Mominul. He made runs at a fast rate on a small and beautiful ground. The track was also solid for batting.’
Bangladesh A tied the series 2-2 against the Irish and Taskin Ahmed was relatively happy with it since his team managed to not lose a series on away conditions like that of Ireland.
‘The Irish had some advantage because of their home conditions, everyone benefits from home environment. Keeping that in mind, the fact that we didn’t lose the series to them is a big achievement in itself, even though we are a better side than them.’
