The Test marks Bangladesh’s return to Australian soil for the first time in 23 years.
Bangladesh Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto said during the toss: "(On leading Bangladesh in a Test match here in Australia) Yeah. I am very proud to be here and really excited as well. As you said, we are playing a Test match after 23 years. So, really excited to play good cricket here.
"(On the warm-up game) Well, we came here earlier. So, it was a tough preparation match for us. We had some good experience. After that, we had some good practice sessions.
"(On bowling first here) It's a good opportunity for the bowlers. It looks like a good track with some grass covering and also has some moisture. So, the first hour will offer some movement for the bowlers."
Australia have also reunited their formidable pace attack, with the “Big Four” bowling unit featuring together for the first time in almost a year.
