Bangladesh A thumped Hong Kong by 5 wickets in the Emerging Asia Cup at Al Amerat Cricket Ground, Oman.
Hong Kong asked to bat first, managed a total of 150/8 in their allocation of 20 overs, thanks to a brilliant 85 in 61 balls, laced with seven sixes by Babar Hayat.
However, Hong Kong's innings never really got going, due to the brilliant 4/24 of Ripon Mondol that pegged them back.
Chasing 151, Bangladesh A were off to a jittery start, but Parvez Hossain Emon played a handy knock of 28 off 26, while Towhid Hridoy made 29 off 22 to stabilize the innings.
The match's turning point was when skipper Akbar Ali whacked 45 off 24 balls to steer his team closer to victory.
Hong Kong, despite Ehsan Khan's brilliant bowling figures of 3/12, failed to stop Bangladesh A from accomplishing the target in 18.2 overs.
