Bangladesh captain overlooks the past and ready for a ‘New Day’

Despite a vulnerable batting lineup, Bangladesh aims to kick off the T20 World Cup with a victory against Sri Lanka at Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas on Saturday.
Although Bangladesh appears confident, their recent performances have been disappointing. The series loss to the associate nation USA caused a major outcry back home, and their dull performance against India in the practice game only added to the concerns.
Overall, the team has not displayed the form needed to progress to the next round of the T20 World Cup.
In the press conference before the match against Sri Lanka, Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto said, "It is very true that recently the top order hasn't performed well. But tomorrow is a completely new day, and as you mentioned, everyone is giving their 100% in practice to address their issues. In terms of improvement, everyone is in a better position than before,”
"From what I have seen in practice and net sessions, everyone seems to be in a better state than before. Instead of thinking about what happened before, tomorrow is a new day. None of us know who will play well or who won't. On a new day, I believe whoever settles in and gets a good start will have a huge responsibility to see how they finish the game. I hope that if our batters can implement what they have prepared, it will be a good match."
Bangladesh were drawn in Group D which involved teams like South Africa, Nepal and Netherlands apart from Sri Lanka. Bangladesh need to beat at least a top-ranked team between Sri Lanka and South Africa if they want to move to Super 8.
