India women's cricket team is set to tour Bangladesh for a white-ball series as a preparation for the upcoming T20I World Cup scheduled to be held in September and October.
The development was confirmed by Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) director Shafiul Islam Nadel. However, he did not mention any exact schedule of the series.
"India will tour Bangladesh. They will come before the World Cup for a series. It is not yet known whether they will play ODI or T20Is. We will let inform later also details about venue and matches," said Nadel.
According to the draft itinerary, the Indian team is expected to tour in the last week of April for the non-ICC Future Tour Programme series.
The matches are scheduled to be played between April 28 to May 9 with all the matches are probably to be held in Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
India played a full series in Bangladesh in July last year. Bangladesh won the T20I series 2–1 but drew the ODI series 1–1 (another match was tied) against India.
Bangladesh are currently busy with the first-ever bilateral series against Australia comprising three ODIs and an equal number of T20Is.
