Bangladesh began their Asia Cup Super Four campaign on a high note, defeating Sri Lanka by four wickets. The victory was shaped by Saif Hassan’s fluent 61 off 45 balls, which set the tone early, and Towhid Hridoy’s 58 off 37, which guided the chase home.

With this win, Bangladesh now have their eyes firmly on a place in the final. Speaking after the match, Saif Hassan urged his teammates and fans to dream big.

Bangladesh’s next match is against India, and the opener confirmed that all focus is currently on that contest, while planning for the Pakistan fixture will follow later.

“Of course, we should dream big,” Saif said at the post-match press conference. “But we have to take it step by step. Our next game is against India, and all our attention is there. The rest will come later.”

Ahead of the tournament, skipper Litton Das had already stated that Bangladesh’s goal was to reach the final. Saif echoed those words, saying the team had taken another step toward that ambition.

“Definitely. Even before coming here, we believed we could play the final. We’ve moved one step forward. Two games are still left, but for now, our focus is only on the next match” Saif added.
