United Tigers have expressed disappointment over the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) decision to deny No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to four Bangladeshi cricketers selected for the upcoming Abu Dhabi T10 League.

Nurul Hasan Sohan, Habibur Rahman Sohan, Sheikh Mehedi and Shamim Hossain Patwari were picked by the franchise for the tournament, which begins in around 15 days.

However, the BCB declined to grant them permission to participate.

In a statement, United Tigers criticised the timing of the decision, saying the players had no international commitments during the tournament. The franchise also questioned the board’s communication and planning, arguing that any restrictions should have been made clear before the players entered the draft.

The franchise owner said it had made significant financial and logistical commitments to build its squad and that the late decision had put the team management in a difficult position.

The statement also highlighted the lack of this year’s Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), saying Bangladeshi cricketers had already missed valuable financial rewards and opportunities for competitive exposure.

United Tigers warned that such uncertainty could discourage overseas franchises from signing Bangladeshi players in future tournaments, potentially limiting their international exposure and development.
