A reliable source has confirmed the Bangladesh left-handed batter’s signing to Cricfrenzy.
Shamim will travel to Nepal after receiving a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
Shamim becomes the seventh Bangladeshi cricketer to secure a team in the NPL. Former Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan was the first to sign, joining the Pokhara franchise, where he will be joined by Mohammad Rubel and Mohammad Saifuddin.
Saifuddin is currently out of the national team due to injury. However, the pace-bowling all-rounder will receive an NOC for the NPL if he passes his fitness test.
Rubel, meanwhile, has attracted attention with his performances in domestic cricket. The mystery spinner will also represent Pokhara in the tournament.
Elsewhere, Jishan Alam will play for Biratnagar Kings, while Akbar Ali and Ariful Islam are set to feature for Karnali Yaks.
The upcoming edition of the NPL will begin on November 17, with the final scheduled for December 13. All matches will be played at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Kathmandu.
