Miraz is expected to travel to the West Indies soon to link up with his new franchise.
Guyana have brought in the Bangladesh all-rounder as a replacement for Mohammad Nabi, who is set to leave the CPL early due to Afghanistan’s upcoming T20I series against India.
Afghanistan will host India in a three-match T20I series at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium, beginning on August 13.
Nabi was included in Afghanistan’s squad for the series and is expected to leave for India in early September, meaning Guyana could be without him for several matches during the CPL group stage.
Guyana have won all three of their matches so far and currently sit fourth in the points table.
They still have seven group-stage fixtures remaining. It is not yet clear how many matches Miraz has been signed for.
The move marks Miraz’s second stint in the CPL. He was previously picked by Trinbago Knight Riders in 2017 but did not feature in a match.
The Bangladesh all-rounder recently featured in the Lanka Premier League, representing Galle Gladiators. He scored 44 runs in four matches but failed to take a wicket with the ball. Galle went on to win the title after defeating Jaffna Kings in the final.
Miraz has also played in the Pakistan Super League for Lahore Qalandars. Although the franchise won the title, he did not get an opportunity to feature in a match.
Before Miraz, several Bangladeshi cricketers have featured in the CPL, including Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmudullah Riyad and Afif Hossain Dhrubo.
