In the previous edition, Rangpur made a flying start by winning their first eight matches, but their form dipped sharply thereafter.
The Riders lost their final five games and were eliminated by Khulna Tigers in the eliminator, cutting short what had looked like a title-contending run.
Arthur said the priority this season is to maintain consistency throughout the tournament and reach peak form at the business end.
He noted that while the aim is to win every match, last year’s experience highlighted the dangers of losing momentum after a strong start.
“You want to win every game you play, first and foremost. But when I look at last year, we won our first eight games and then didn’t win a match after that. We just fell off a cliff a bit, and we definitely don’t want that this time,” Arthur said.
The former international coach added that the team management will closely analyse last season’s campaign to identify what went wrong and ensure the same issues do not resurface.
According to Arthur, avoiding a similar downturn late in the tournament is a key objective for Rangpur this time around.
“That’s something we’ll sit down and talk about as a management team. We’ll look at what we did and see if there was any correlation to the performances at the back end of the tournament, because we certainly don’t want a repeat of that this year,” he added.
