With 26 runs needed off the final six balls and three wickets in hand, Sohan delivered a stunning sequence of 6, 4, 4, 6, 4, 6 off Kyle Mayers’ over to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

His composure under pressure and remarkable hitting sealed the game for Rangpur, sparking wild celebrations on the field.

Chasing a daunting target, Rangpur faced early setbacks, losing Alex Hales for just 1 run with the team score at 4. Tawfique Khan and Saif Hasan steadied the innings with a 37-run stand, but both departed soon after, leaving Rangpur struggling at 66/3.

Pivotal contributions came from Pakistani duo Iftikhar Ahmed and Khushdil Shah, who stitched a 91-run partnership to keep Rangpur in the hunt. Iftikhar fell for 48 in the 18th over, bowled by Shaheen Shah Afridi, while Khushdil's explosive 48 off 22 balls, including three sixes and two fours, kept hopes alive.

With 39 runs needed off the last 12 balls, Khushdil smashed back-to-back sixes off Jahandad Khan but was dismissed on the next ball, leaving Rangpur’s chase hanging by a thread. Enter Sohan, who delivered one of the most thrilling finishes in BPL history.

Sohan’s match-winning knock not only secured Rangpur’s sixth consecutive win but also showcased his exceptional leadership under pressure.

Barishal’s bowling effort was led by Kamrul Islam Rabbi, who took two wickets, and Jahandad, whose three-wicket haul nearly sealed the game for his team.

Rangpur now sits firmly at the top of the points table, while Barishal will look to bounce back in their next fixture.

Batting first after losing the toss, Barishal got off to a solid start to set a challenging target of 198 runs with an 81-run opening partnership between Tamim and Najmul Hossain Shanto. Shanto scored 41 off 30 balls, while Tamim contributed 40 runs off 34 deliveries before both were dismissed by Kamrul Islam Rabbi.

After the openers’ departure, Towhid Hridoy and Mayers took charge. Hridoy managed 23 runs before falling, while Mahmudullah couldn’t stay long at the crease. However, Faheem Ashraf added quickfire runs with a 6-ball 20 cameo.

Mayers remained unbeaten, anchoring the innings with a blistering 61 off just 29 balls, which included powerful hitting to propel Barishal to 197/5.

For Rangpur, Kamrul Islam Rabbi was the standout bowler with two wickets, while Mohammad Saifuddin and Akif Javed chipped in with a wicket each.
