The first unofficial ODI between Bangladesh Women's 'A' team and Sri Lanka Women's 'A' team, scheduled to take place at the Army Ground in Panagoda, was called off on Sunday afternoon due to persistent rain. The wet outfield prevented even the toss from taking place.
The team, led by Rabeya Khan, comprises national team players and is on this tour as a final preparation opportunity before the upcoming T20 World Cup.
They are scheduled to play two 50-over matches and five T20 matches during the series.
However, the tour got off to a rough start due to the weather. The second 50-over match is set to take place in Colombo’s Thurstan on Tuesday. The T20 series will commence on September 12.
