Bangladesh spearhead Tanim Hasan Sakib was confident and believe Bangladesh could pose a threat and beat any team in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
The U-19 World Cup winner Tanzim stated that he always had the vision to play for the national team and feel it was a ‘dream come true’ for him to get selected in the World Cup squad.
“It all started from under-19 cricket, my goal was to play international cricket. I never lack the confidence. I prepared myself in such a way for international cricket. My goal is to dominate this level. Every player's dream is to represent their country in world cricket. Being in the World Cup squad is like a dream come true for me,” said Tanzim in BCB’s Red Green Story.
Bangladesh’s major achievement in an International event was when they reached the semi-final of 2017's Champions Trophy which is still their highest success in any ICC events.
Bangladesh has proven itself as a strong contender in their home series, taking on cricket giants like Australia and New Zealand in recent years. Tanzim wants to replicate such feats in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
“I am very confident about our team. Our team is mentally strong, and our bonding is very good. If all the players can perform well on the field, then no team can stand in front of us, Insha'Allah. We can defeat any team,” he said.
Tanzim lauded Tawhid Hridoy’s batting style and said he enjoyed bowling against him in the nets. Additionally, Tanjim also embraces the disciplined mindset of Shakib Al Hasan.
"Tawhid Hridoy is my favorite batsman. I always enjoy his batting and I liked his playing style. I enjoy challenging him on the net and he always takes the challenge. I try to emulate Shakib bhai's calm and composed mentality. I really admire his ability to handle any situation calmly,” he added.
