Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman stated that donning the national team jersey has always been a matter of pride but he believes without winning a trophy a player can't be recognised as a 'big player'.

Bangladesh has always appeared as the dark horse in significant events like World Cups and Champions Trophy. Tiger's major achievement in such a tournament was when they reached the semi-final of 2017's Champions Trophy which is still their highest success in any ICC events.

Bangladesh has proved themselves as a strong contender in their home series. where they have humbled cricket giants like Australia, New Zealand in recent years. However, their supremacy fades away when they take part in the major tournaments.

Mustafiz regrets not having won a title for the national team despite being highly rated as the cutter-master around the world. He feels without a trophy a player can't be a big player.

"There is no end to improvement. I will strive to do better than I have done before. I believe that when a player wins major trophies, they eventually become a big player. At that time, they are recognized as big players. There has always been anguish," said Mustafiz in BCB's Red Green Story.

"I take pride in playing for my country and always enjoy it. I particularly like playing T20 because of the stress and pressure, which I thrive on. I share my knowledge with our bowlers Taskin, and Shoriful to help them improve," he said.

Mustafiz, also known as 'The Fizz' in cricket, revealed the origin of his nickname and his unique run-up.

"My name was too big to fit on the bowling or fielding board, so it was shortened to Fizz. When someone asked me who it was, I found out it was me. Later, when I played in the IPL, the name Fizz became hugely popular," he added.
