All-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz hit an unbeaten 38 and put on a record tenth-wicket stand to grab the spotlight for a famous win against India by one wicket in a thrilling opening one-day international on Sunday.
The team, on the other hand, would be slightly disappointed with their performance because star batters Mushfiqur Rahim, Shakib al Hasan and Mahmudullah were unable to lead the team over the finish line.
However, Shakib set up victory after his impressive bowling figures of 5-36 helped bowl out India for 186 in 41.2 overs despite Rahul's 73.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) batting consultant Wasim Jaffer said it is unfortunate that Ace all-rounder is playing for Bangladesh.

“Yes, he is definitely one of the best (all-rounders). It’s just so unfortunate that he plays for Bangladesh and he doesn’t get the same kind of recognition with the other all-rounders. But it turns out performances like this with the ball, with the bat and on big occasions as well.” said Wasim Jaffer.
“In 2019 World Cup, he scored heaps of runs and literally carried Bangladesh Cricket Team on his own shoulders. He is one of the rare all-rounders coming from the Bangladesh and he is doing against really good team. Really happy for him.” he added.
This ODI Series may not be a part of World Super League points but now the teams would be eager to get an ideal combination for the next year’s ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.
