Bangladesh end Day 2 with 64-run lead despite late collapse

Bangladesh batter Mushfiqur Rahim said on Wednesday at the press conference following the fourth day's play of the ongoing first Test between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram that Bangladesh is the only place where a player reaches the heights of the greatest cricketers overnight because of just one good innings.
The veteran batter made history today by becoming the first Bangladeshi batter to score 5000 runs in Test cricket. The experienced cricketer achieved the feat on way to registering his eighth Test ton
"When a player scores a century, suddenly in Bangladesh he becomes a greater player than [Don] Bradman. The next day when the same player fails, he needs to find a place to hide. It is only seen in our country," said Mushfiqur

"I don't know who these people are but I think it would be better for the players if these people can behave in a more matured way," he added.

When the 35-year-old has failed to live up to his image, he has received harsh criticism. But the cricketer has proven his detractors wrong time and time again.
In response to Mushfiqur's critics, his wife Jannatul Mondy posted a message after Mushfiq’s century on her Instagram that quickly went viral.
"We will bid goodbye with smiling faces. But do you have a proper replacement? Cricket in Bangladesh would probably prosper further if you could focus on that," wrote Mondy.
However, Mushfiqur made no comments when the matter was brought up during the press conference. "I actually don't know what she wrote. I will get to know what she meant once I talk to her."
