Abahani clinch DPL title after beating Mohammedan in final-day showdown

Mohammedan Sporting Club registered a 5-wicket win against Khelaghar Samaj Kallyan Samity in the ongoing Dhaka Premier League (DPL) at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Saturday.
Soumya Sarkar smashed a fifty to propel Mohammedan chase down the target of 149 in 40.1 overs. He was unbeaten on 59 off 100 balls hitting only two boundaries.
While, Parvez Hossain Emon and Ariful Islam scored 36 and 30 runs in the middle.

Nazmul Apu and Mohammad Hafeez shared nine wickets to skittle Khelaghar out on 148 in 49 overs. Khelaghar captain Nadif Chowdhury top-scored 33 facing 54 balls with 2 fours and a six.
Shuvagata Hom took a couple of wickets and Yasin Mishu got one for Mohammedan.
In another match of DPL, Brothers Union beat Shinepukur Cricket Club by 3 wickets at BKSP-3 Ground, Savar on Saturday.
Brothers Union batters Imtiaz Hossain and Sadikur Rahman led to a great start with record opening partnership of 159-run. Imtiaz scored 78 which featured 11 fours and a six and Sadikur hit 84 off 73, having struck 1 fours and two sixes.
Myshukur Rahman missed his fifty for two runs, he played a knock of 48 off 68 aided by 4 fours. Unbeaten Abu Haider Rony (14) and Naeem Islam Jnr took the team to port of victory chasing 281 runs.
