Asia Cup set to begin on August 27, to be played in T20 format

The Asia Cup 2022 is set to begin from August 27 and will be held in Sri Lanka. The tournament will be played in T20 format.
Asian Cricket Council (ACC)announced the dates on their Twitter handle by saying “The Asia Cup 2022 (T20 Format) will be held in Sri Lanka from 27 August – 11 September later this year. The Qualifiers for the same will be played 20 August 2022 onwards.”

The 2020 edition was canceled by the tournament's governing body ACC owing to Covid-19 and its restrictions.
Six teams will participate in the 15th editionof Asia Cup, including India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and a Qualifier. The Qualifiers will be played 20 August 2022 onwards.
The Qualifier tournament will be played between UAE and Kuwait, who progressed from 2020 ACC Western Region T20, and Singapore and Hong Kong, who progressed from the 2020 ACC Eastern Region T20.
