Abahani clinch DPL title after beating Mohammedan in final-day showdown

Mahedi Hasan’s batting helped Gazi Group Cricketers to register a 9-wicket victory by (D/L method) against Partex club in Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League T20 at BKSP-3, Savar.

Gazi chased down the target of 47 runs losing one wicket in 5.3 overs, initially the target was 110 runs but due to rain, the match was reduced to eight overs.

Mahedi played a stormy innings of 33 runs off 13 balls, struck one four and four sixes, before getting castled by Moin Khan. Then, Soumya Sarkar (11*) and Zakir Hasan (2) remained unbeaten and took the team to port of victory.

Earlier, Partex have scored 109 runs losing all wickets, opener Hasanuzzaman (26) and Joyraz (24) made a partnership of 46 runs, then Hasanuzzaman fell prey to Mominul Haque to ended the partnership.

Nazmul Hossain Milon scored 21 runs and Rajibul Islam played a knock of 21 runs faced 13 balls with one four and two sixes. Gazi’s Mohiuddin Tareq took three and Mahedi, Mukidul Islam, Mahmudullah and Mominul took one wicket each.

Mohammedan vs Brothers Union

The match between Mohammedan and Brothers Union was suspended due to rain at BKSP-4, Savar. In the first innings Mohammedan scored 143 runs losing 9 wickets after 20 overs. Abdul Majid played an innings of 35 runs off 35 deliveries.
