Former Bangladesh captain Akram Khan thanked former West Indian legend Gordon Greenidge for his contribution but added that he was sacked by BCB official that he termed disappointing.
Bangladesh made meteoritic rise during Gordon’s tenure as head coach and have won the famous ICC Champions Trophy under his guidance.
He was awarded honorary citizenship of Bangladesh in recognition of his achievements but his exit was quite bitter as BCB could not have trust on his ability in the end.

‘’The man who has helped us in so many ways was sacked during the start of the Pakistan match in the World Cup by the board official,’’ Akram Khan said this during a live video chat with Bangladesh ODI captain Tamim Iqbal where Minahajul Abedin and Khaled Masud Pilot was also present.
‘’When I enter the dressing room I saw him leaving us. There is lot of contribution in Bangladesh cricket from different players and coaches but what Gordon has done to our cricket nobody can match that’’ said Akram Khan
‘’The most disappointing part is what we have done with him is a very sad thing. When we played the last match against Pakistan it was our last match and it was Gordon's last day with us as well. Some of the board officials did not like him which happens normally in Bangladesh cricket'' He said
Akram also hailed Gordon influence in Bangladesh cricket as he was instrumental in changing Bangladesh players training and practice habits of the players
‘’His impact was huge in Bangladesh cricket. When he came to coach us we know nothing more than cricket. We have got no idea besides cricket and he used to train us from the 5 o clock in the morning,’’ he said.
‘’He prepared us mentality .we do not have any fielding coach physio and trainer like .Gordon alone have to do all this for us. He mentality and physically help us the lot'' Akram concluded
