Even though Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) shows their keen interest to host Bangladesh and India as well on home territory, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Director and its Media &Publication Committee Chairman Jalal Younis said it will be very difficult to tour to Sri Lanka amid threat of the dreadful COVID-19 worldwide pandemic.
Jalal also said they could not sit together to discuss anything among themselves about the tour of Sri Lanka yet owing to the coronavirus contagion.
He puts up a question how it’ll then be possible. But he said it’s just the middle of May and they have a full month in hand so let’s see what happens in the next.

“We still have not discussed anything about it. They have said they are ready to host us but we still did not say anything about the series,” said Jalal Younis.
“It is difficult to play the series with the current situation of Sri Lanka and the world as well,” he told Cricfrenzy over mobile phone today.
“The board will decide about the fate of the tour. We already suspended tours in Pakistan and Ireland for an indefinite period due to the COVID-19 virus. We have a board president. He’ll discuss the matter on the board and then the decision will be made. But we are yet to discuss the matter yet,” he added.
The media committee chairman said the coronavirus situation in both countries is very different.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) withdrew their cricket team, keeping unfinished the tour in the Island nation in the wake of the novel virus that emerged first in China in December, 2019.
“They may want us to tour there because their condition is good in the coronavirus period but our condition is not good,” Jalal said.
“We also have to consider our protocol and our security has to be checked as well during corona time. The players have to take preparation as well and we have to consider our flight issues as well,” he concluded.
