Mushfiq feels urgency to contribute more for the team’s success

Wicket-keeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim said that he felt the urgency to do well after seeing the efforts of others in contributing to the team’s success.
Mushfiqur, who has been playing relentlessly for 15 years for the national team, faced many ups and downs throughout his over decades-long international cricket career.
The right-handed batsman became an idol to many players in and out of the country for his attachment to his hard and fast practice regiment along with the achievements he earned so far.
He is grateful to his long-time teammates like Tamim Iqbal Khan, Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmudullah Riyad and Mashrafe Bin Mortaza. Watching them contributing the team on and off-the-field that inspired him to do even more and contribute to the team.
He believes that it also creates hunger inside him to do even more and brings him to his success.
In the last Facebook live chat session with Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur stated that he is grateful to everyone who has been related to him throughout his career and to his teammates who have always backed him during his tough times.
“Alhamdulillah, it’s a grace of Allah. Every player has a dream to represent his country. And playing for the Bangladesh team for years is a great privilege for me,” Mushfiqur Rahim said.
“Obviously I want to thank everyone who was related to me including my coaches, teachers, family members and especially you [Tamim], Riyad Bhai, Shakib and Mashrafe Bhai. Especially with Shakib I’ve been playing from Under-17. My biggest family is obviously you, Shakib, Riyad Bhai and Mashrafe Bhai, it’s obviously a privilege and honour for me to get you all with me, Mushfiqur told in a live chat session.
“I’ve said many times that when I see role models especially like Riyad Bhai, Tamim, Mashrafe Bhai and Shakib, the work then becomes easy for me. When I wasn’t able to play consistently well, that urge was then coming inside me that Tamim, Shakib, Mashrafe Bhai, Riyad Bhai is playing so well, contributing so well, so I need to step up which will benefit the team. I had that realization and thanks to you as well and of course to Riyad Bhai, Shakib, Mashrafe Bhai as well and also to other teammates have supported me on several times,” he added.
“Though I hardly share it, in many ways, you and a lot of coaches have helped me a lot during my ups and downs. But all in all, I think as much as I tried,” the diminutive batsman, who dubbed most dependable players in Bangladesh cricket, said, adding that the years he has left to play he will try to contribute to the Bangladesh team towards a win.
