Experienced Bangladesh batter Mushfiqur Rahim became the first Tiger cricketer to surpass 6,000 runs in Test cricket during the final session of Day 2 in the ongoing first Test against South Africa at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka.
Mushfiqur, who needed 28 runs to reach the milestone, achieved it with a boundary off Keshav Maharaj.

He is Bangladesh’s all-time leading run-scorer in Test cricket and holds the record for the most Test appearances for Bangladesh, with 93 matches.

After Shanto was dismissed for 24, Mushfiqur came in and brought positive momentum to the innings, rotating the strike with singles and doubles and finding boundaries when available.
He finished the day unbeaten on 31 from 26 balls, bringing his total Test runs to 6,003.
