The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) intends to bring the Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah up to international standards as the board officially launched the reconstruction project today.
BCB's chairman of facilities, Akram Khan stated at the press conference that the BCB has taken the initiative to restore this international venue for the development of Bangladesh cricket.

The renovation is expected to be finished next season.

The main stadium's digital scoreboard is unusable and the VIP gallery and players' locker facilities are also in poor condition.
The outer stadium is inoperable and flooding has been a serious issue at the facility during the rainy season.
For a long time, players and sports fans have demanded that this stadium be renovated.
