The stadium last hosted an international game in 2016 at the Asia Cup.

The main stadium's digital scoreboard is unusable and the VIP gallery and players' locker facilities are also in poor condition.

The outer stadium is inoperable and flooding has been a serious issue at the facility during the rainy season.

For a long time, players and sports fans have demanded that this stadium be renovated.
