Bangladesh spinner Mahfuzur Rahman Rabby claimed six wickets to down Afghanistan U-19 in the Tri-nation Final on Thursday.


After losing their first two matches in the tournament, Bangladesh became the champion with three consecutive wins.


After choosing to bat first in Abu Dhabi's Oval, Afghanistan scored 28 runs without a wicket in the first five overs. Left-handed pacer Maruf Mridha drew the first blood by bowling out Hezbullah Dorani in the sixth over.


After the team's score crossed fifty, the Afghans quickly lost 4 wickets. Mahfuzur started to prey with Wafiullah Tarakhil. He sent back Sohail Khan and Kamran Hotak in his next two overs.

Afrans lost 5 wickets for 60 runs in the eighteenth over. From there, Mohammad Haroon and Khalid Taniwal crossed the team's score to 100 with an innings-best 54-run partnership.

In the chase, Ashiqur Rahman departed after scoring 17 runs with 3 fours in 13 balls. Jishan Alam scored 35 runs off 19 balls.


After that, Mohammad Rizwan and Ariful Islam led the team to victory with a partnership of 53 runs for the third wicket. Ariful made 22 off 33 balls. Opener Rizwan scored 43 off 49 balls with 5 fours and a six.



In this tour, Bangladesh ended the two-match youth ODI series with a 1-1 draw against Afghanistan.


They lost the first two matches of the tri-series to Afghanistan and Sri Lanka. Then won the trophy by defeating Sri Lanka once and Afghanistan twice.
