Ireland was knocked out by Bangladesh in the ODI series, losing 2-0 in Sylhet as the visitors are now hoping for a new start in the T20 series starting from 27th March in Chittagong. Irish all-rounder Ross Adair said they are not ‘afraid’ of Bangladesh at all, despite their recent collapse in the ODIs.

After the ODI series loss, captain Andrew Balbirnie said they came with the hope of playing better cricket. Now Ireland have a chance to show something in T20. But in front of the energized Bangladesh, who have beaten world champions England in the last T20 series, won’t be an easy task.

“We want to stay discipline but be aggressive as well. We are not scared of Bangladesh. We want to have a real good go at them,” Adair said in the pre match press conference on Saturday.

“Obviously the guys were disappointed but this is a fresh start, a new format. We are looking to bounce back and be as positive as we can. We know how good Bangladesh are. We have taken it as an opportunity to move on to a new format,” he added.

After arriving in Chittagong from Sylhet yesterday, the Ireland team came to practice at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium this morning.

After defeating England and West Indies in the World Cup, the Irish have lost the series against Zimbabwe by 2-1. In this series, however, Adair wants to be more aggressive against the Tigers.

“We just want to keep doing what we are good at. We feel that we will be aggressive with the bat and the ball, and in the field. If we can do that, you never know what can happen,”
