Abahani clinch DPL title after beating Mohammedan in final-day showdown

Anamul Haque Bijoy’s 184 steered Prime Bank Cricket Club to a massive 111-run win over Shinepukur Cricket Club in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) at the BKSP-4 Ground, Savar on Sunday.
Chasing a record run target of 389, Shinepukur managed to score 277 for the loss of eight wickets in 50 overs. Rakibul Hasan (slao) was the pick of the bowling attack as he took a four-for for Prime Bank.
Sikandar Raza was the highest run-getter for Shinepukur but missed his century for just two runs. He scored 98 off 109 deliveries which featured 9 fours and four sixes.
After being invited to bat first Prime Bank posted 388 for 5 with the help of Bijoy’s 184 off 142 smashing 18 fours and 8 sixes.
Nasir Hossain and Shahadat Hossain Dipu played crucial knocks of 61 and 47 runs in the middle.
Asaduzzaman Payel and Sikandar Raja picked up a couple of wickets and Alauddin Ahmed Babu got one for Shinepukur.
In another match, Abahani limited registered a 20-run win against Khelaghar Samaj Kallyan Samity.
