The Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis official said on Wednesday that they have shifted the matches of the Dhaka Premier League to Dhaka from Cox’s Bazaar and Chattogram, in light of the current coronavirus outbreak.
CCDM chairman Kazi Inam earlier announced that the first three round of the DPL will be played in Chattogram and Cox’s Bazaar as they were preparing to host the games between World XI and Asia XI.

As BCB postponed those game that they were supposed to host to mark the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the DPL matches will be played in Dhaka.
DPL, country’s traditional Dhaka-based 50-over club tournament, will start from March 15 through the match between Abahani Limited and Partex in the first matches.
Bangladesh Cricket Board is trying to spread cricket all around the country in order to put less pressure on the grounds of Dhaka.
There have been various precautionary steps taken by various cricket boards following the worldwide concerns about corona virus. Cricket South Africa has decided to go ahead with the senior men’s tour of India, starting later this week, after conducting risk assessment, but the Everest Premier League, a T20 competition in Nepal, has been postponed indefinitely after a government directive to avoid mass gatherings. The Pakistan Super League, however, is going ahead despite a major scare in Karachi.
There are wide-ranging repercussions in the rest of the sporting world too, with fears that this year’s Olympic Games in Tokyo might be affected.
