Bangladesh mentally prepared to tour in Pakistan: Akram Khan

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) cricket operations chairman Akram Khan said that the national team is fully prepared to tour in Pakistan and just what they need is to get the green signal from the government.
“We are raring to go in Pakistan and the Bangladesh team is mentally prepared. Now if we get the NOC from the government we’ll discuss on it,” Akram told the reporters on Monday.
Even though the fate of the tour hangs on the government clearance, Akram said they are showing their interest to tour in Pakistan since they need to play Test cricket more often.
“Even we are showing our interest. Because we have to do well at this stage,” Akram said indicating the Test series, in which they often find them in vulnerable state.
“We are now waiting for the approval. When we’ll get the NOC, we will sit on this issue.”
The Bangladesh national team is scheduled to visit Pakistan in next February for two-match Test and three-match T20 series but the BCB is yet to get the nod from the government.
A couple of days ago, BCB president Nazmul Hassan Papon said that the players won’t be forced to tour in Pakistan even Government gives the permission to send the team there.
An aged level team of male team and Bangladesh national women’s team earlier visited Pakistan after getting the clearance from the government.
The BCB boss said a decision on the national male team’s Pakistan tour will be made within four or five days after which they would take the next course of action.
The security team has already visited Pakistan twice in this regard and submitted their recommendations.
