Bangladesh A looked no match for Afghanistan A but they eye to draw the one-day series in a bid to avoid series sweep when they take on the visitors in the fifth and final match at BKSP on Monday.
Bangladesh A had already lost the two-match four-day series by 1-0 and trailed by 2-1 in five-match one-day series. They could have already lost the one-day series unless the rain washed out the fourth game between the two sides on Saturday.
Bangladesh A were shot out of just 176 and in reply Afghanistan reached 57 for no loss in just 8.2 overs before rain washed out the game.
As the rain saved them from losing the series, the second string Bangladesh side didn’t want to squander the chance to level the series by winning the last match.

However Bangladesh A team’s performance against war-torn Afghan side created a huge uproar in the cricketing fraternity but the skipper Imrul Kayes said the Afghanistan A team is stronger than their imagination.
He also said they could have done well had they got the service of the players of main A team which is playing a first class tournament in Bangalore.
But the question raised whether they need their main team to beat a team like Afghanistan A which didn’t often get chance to play matches.
“This Afghanistan side is quite stronger. They got strong batting line up. You may think from long distance that we are losing one match after another against them but we haven’t got our main A team. If we could have got our main A team players we would have won,” Kayes said.
“They have the skill and genetic power. Even in one match they scored 100 runs in just 9 overs. Even they hit six in yorker delivery. They are far ahead of us,” Kayes admitted.
Kayes said toss will be important in deciding the course of the match.
“Toss becomes vital. Who wins the, they are winning the match in this series. And in the first hour it is tough to bat because the ball moves viciously. But batting is easy in second innings. That’s why toss is important.”
