England survived huge scare as their skipper Eoin Morgan went unscratched despite slow over rate against Pakistan. England went 20 minutes beyond their allotted three-a-half hours to bowl their 50 overs, which could bring about a hefty punishment.

Such a breach matches a "serious over-rate offence" under ICC guidelines and should bring about a two-match ban.

If the match referee opts to act, Morgan - who was banned during the ODI series against Pakistan last month for the same offence - would miss this Friday's game against Bangladesh in Cardiff and the West Indies in Southampton.

However, Morgan did not receive any penalty but that is not the case for Jofra Archer and Jason Roy as they were penalized by the match referee.

Roy and Archer have been fined 15 per cent of their match fee after they were found guilty of breaching the ICC Code of Conduct in their World Cup 2019 fixture against Pakistan in Nottingham on Tuesday (June 3).

Archer was further slapped with one demerit point, after being found guilty of breaching Article 2.8 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel. The fast bowler was reprimanded for a show of dissent towards the umpire during Pakistan's tense run-chase. In the 27th over, Archer appeared to disagree with the on-field umpire's decision to adjudge a delivery as a wide, leading to the dissent.

As for Roy, he breached Article 2.3 ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to using audible obscenities in an international match. Roy too has been hit with a demerit point for using audible obscenities in the 14th over following a misfield.

England's opposition meanwhile, were guilty of a minor slow over-rate - bowling one over short of the target after time allowances were taken into consideration. Captain Sarfaraz Ahmed was fined 20 per cent of his match fee while his team mates had to forgo 10 per cent of theirs.
